AFREC Launches AEIS Publications 2024

Algiers, Algeria, January 23, 2025 - The African Energy Commission (AFREC) successfully hosted a webinar to launch three vital publications on energy statistics. The event, held on 23rd January and attended by more than 180 energy professionals and stakeholders from across the continent, delved into key insights shaping the future of Africa’s energy landscape. 

AFREC Successfully Holds In-Person Methane Mitigation Training for Oil and Gas Experts from Tunisia and Libya in Tunis (22-24 October 2024)

The African Energy Commission (AFREC) successfully conducted the in-person methane mitigation training for experts coming from Tunisia and Libya who are working in the oil and gas sector. The training was held from 22 to 24 October 2024 at Laico Tunis Hotel, where up to 40 engineers and scientists drawn from across the oil and gas value chain from the two countries participated.

The African Energy Commission (AFREC) is a specialized technical agency of the African Union Commission (AUC), under the Department of Infrastructure and Energy created by Decision of the 37th Summit of the OAU African Heads of States and Governments in July 2001 and officially launched by the African Union Ministers in charge of Energy in February 2008 in Algiers, Algeria.
