On the margins of the 39th African Union (AU) Summit, the African Union Commission (AUC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Commission on Nuclear Energy (AFCONE) and the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), marking a significant milestone in advancing the peaceful application of nuclear science and technology for socio-economic development in Africa.

AFREC Concludes Key Oil and Gas Validation Workshop for Eastern Africa in Entebbe

The African Energy Commission (AFREC) has concluded a major regional workshop in Entebbe, Uganda, aimed at validating a comprehensive study on expanding domestic oil and gas markets across Eastern Africa. The two-day event, held from 13 – 14 May 2025, brought together stakeholders from nine Eastern African countries to finalise findings and chart a path forward for energy sector development.
